June Update -
Welcome to the all new Naturists UK

UPDATED 16th June 2007: Thanks for you continued patience! The site is still under construction as our chief web coder is doing his A levels! Many more features are planned and should be rolled out in July - sorry for the delay but good things are always worth waiting for! We'll bring you lots more news in the coming months.

Much has been happening in the meantime with many working behind the scenes in the various organisations to make Britain a better clothes-optional place to live. We are especially delighted to support a Cambridge WNBR as announced here today!

We don't recommend you register just yet - we want to be fully ready to provide a first rate service - but hope from July to announce full functionality...  Keep looking in for more news - see below! Wink

To see what's new just look at the 'Latest News' and 'What's New?' link lists - below right - and to see an overview of the site click: Site Map  and 'Expand'. Our Search facility with highlighted matches, makes finding info on a particular topic a doddle. Much much more coming soon...!

H&E Naturist: Naturists UK signs up first club

Naturists UK signs up first club

H&E Naturist subscribers receiving their March 2007 copy this week - I got mine today - will be reading the latest news:

Naturists UK signs up first club

The new national naturist organisation, Naturists UK, has welcomed Club Soleil into its ranks as the first member club. The club, run by Yorkshire couple Norman and June Calvert, has been organising swims in the East Anglia region since 1996. Club Soleil has built up a reputation for friendliness, and down-to-earth, no-nonsense attitudes, and is happy to see all naturists at its venues - couples, families, and singles. Club rules are refreshingly simple: "Relax and enjoy your evening with us and let others do the same."

Last month Soleil launched a new swim at the water theme park Aquasplash, in Hemel Hempstead. The Calverts have both been impressed by Naturists UK's determination to support and promote clubs. Mr Calvert said: "We believe that success depends on being forward-looking, and we think this is a great idea. We will be offering Naturists UK members the same entry discounts as our own members enjoy."

Support for naturist swims has, unfortunately, been uneven in recent years. The new organisation's spokesman, Richard Collins, says: "People are becoming less fit and healthy. We've become a nation of stay-at-homes. We need to get out more.  Part of the problem is that people don't know what's on their doorstep, but Naturists UK intends to change that with active promotion of clubs, swims, and walking groups. A naturist swim is the ideal way to both relax and get some much-needed exercise."

The group has also been negotiating discounts with a specialist broker, and hopes soon to be able to offer member clubs insurance at a very competitive price. For swim clubs, for instance, this could mean membership, and promotion by way of a full web page, plus annual insurance, at an all-in figure of around £165 per year. According to Collins, it's by no means just about clubs however. Naturists UK is committed to supporting all naturists, including those activists campaigning for wider use of the great outdoors. Individual memberships have been climbing steadily, with many signing up before the launch date, eager to support an organisation that promises to promote the cause on all fronts.
